This Saturday, August 3rd at the Lake Warren Community Center, a Hope for Heroes Bags Tournament Fundraiser will be taking place, explains event planner Lori Boruff:

“It is open to the public so just follow the arrows around to the Community Center and you will find the bags tournament set. Now that is for the professionals who want to win those cash prizes. You just have to bring a partner and $50 per team, with half of that going to Camp Hope. We are going to have just the cornholers who just want to have fun, we will have that part of it too. We have an opening at noon, just an opening message. Our son will tell his story. Vietnam Veteran Jim Kinney will be providing the music for us kind of all day long until 6 or 6:30 pm and David Fields, who is a Veteran, he will have Field’s BBQ and hot dogs there. We will have food, drinks, a bake sale, and we have silent auction items. It is just going to be a fun day supporting our Veterans.”

Proceeds will be used to allow local veterans to go to Camp Hope in Farmington, Missouri, a retreat for military veterans.
