Jamieson Community Center’s STARS Program Prepares Students for Next School Year

Share

160 children received school supplies through the STARS program at Jamieson Community Center. Executive Director Nancy Mowen is grateful for the local community:

“We were able to provide every item on the teachers list, thanks to our local community. Community National Bank sponsors that program and then we ask local churches to donate very specific things and we have a lot of individuals from the community that drop off as well. Between all of those organizations, OSF did the earbuds this year, just a lot of partnerships going on, people taking ownership of specific things, and when that happens we can provide. This year it was a little bit different in that the backpacks themselves were provided by Feed the Children.”

Additionally, the Learning Center at Jamieson Community Center is on break after their summer session, but will start back up again this fall, which will serve 20 students from the Monmouth-Roseville, United, and ICS school districts.
