Another school year is underway and so is WMOI/WRAM’s School Spotlight of the Month. For the month of September, the spotlight shines on the students and staff at United North Elementary. As United underwent a reorganization this school year, United North now houses pre-k through 3rd Grade, which allowed for the addition of a special education pre-k and a third kindergarten room for smaller class sizes. To celebrate the new school year, Principal Maggie Wallace shares they are hosting a Back to School Bash:

“For the first time ever, we are partnering with the Alexis Fire Department, and we are going to have a Back-to-School night, kind of a Back to School Bash. We are calling it ‘Let’s Get Fired Up.’ We are going to have dinner and a movie. Our firefighters are providing hamburgers and hot dogs. Our PTO purchased a blow-up screen, and we are going to show the movie Migration. That is on September 19th. Dinner starts at 6 pm and the movie starts at 7 pm.”
