Superintendent Day Talks Cell Phone Policy at West Central

Cell phone usage in schools has been a hot topic across the nation. West Central Superintendent Stacey Day reports their current cell phone policy in place for all grade levels:

“Our Middle School and Elementary are no cell phones, shut off before you walk in the building and don’t turn them back on until you walk out of the building at the end of the day. At the High School level, they can have them with them and be on them in the passing periods and during lunch but are not allowed to be on them during the classrooms. In the end, it is good for them, even if they don’t think so to be away from them for a while and build those skills and just communicating with people that are sitting in the same room as you.”

Additionally, Superintendent Day shares that the West Central School District is fully staffed for this academic year.
