“U Made a Difference”, that is the theme surrounding the United Red Storm School District as they honor Mr. Jeff Whitsitt for twenty years of leadership, support and guidance. Whitsitt was the first Superintendent hired after the consolidation of Alexis and Warren schools in 2004, with Yorkwood school district joining the following year. Now as he embarks on retirement, Whitsitt reflects on his 33-year career in education and administration, stating, “Everything else is in good hands! Thanks again for everything. I’ve been treated well and truly feel blessed to have been able to serve this district. With that, I turn over the keys for Mr. Hawkins to complete the next stage of the drive!
Whitsitt began his career in 1991 at ROWVA High School and began his coaching career after growing up in Knoxville. Whitsitt graduated from Illinois State University with a teaching degree and earned his master’s in education and administration from Western Illinois University.
