The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau® Foundation is proud to announce this year’s scholarship recipients. Due to the generosity of the Twomey Family Foundation, memorials in honor of loved ones, support from our members and area businesses, and fundraising efforts, the Foundation can assist nineteen applicants this year in furthering their education in agriculture. Each of this year’s recipients will receive a total of $1,300 for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Foundation started awarding scholarships in 1994 and since that time has awarded 412 scholarships and almost $350,000 to students continuing their education in an agricultural field of study.

Meet one of this year’s recipientsLeo Mahoney

Leo Mahoney graduated from Monmouth-Roseville High School in the spring and plans to attend either the University of Illinois or Western Illinois University with a major in agronomy. While in high school, he was involved in the National Honor Society, was an Adapted PE tutor, Polar Plunge, and several volunteer opportunities. In his spare time, Leo enjoys baseball, basketball, football, farming, fishing, and mechanics. Future plans for Leo include going back to the family farm and possibly seed sells with his dad, selling precision planting parts, or starting his own business. Leo is the son of Matthew and Brianne Mahoney of Berwick.
