Charles A. Allaman, age 97, of rural Rozetta, Illinois, passed away at 9:57 AM on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Roseville Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born May 2, 1927 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Marion H. and Louie L. (Thompson) Allaman. Charles attended Liberty School in Rozetta, Oquawka Grade School, and graduated from Biggsville High School with the Class of 1945. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1955. On September 9, 1956, Charles married Alice L. Livingston at the Methodist Church in Monmouth, Illinois and she preceded him in death on December 12, 2016.
Charles was a self-employed farmer. It was his entire career and passion. He was a longtime member of the Rozetta Baptist Church. Charles also belonged to a local card club for 50 years and enjoyed that time of fellowship with his neighbors.
Charles is survived by four sons, Bill (Mary) Allaman of Rozetta, IL, Tim (Kim) Allaman of Rozetta, IL, Dan (Wendy) Allaman of Rozetta, IL, and Ken (Lori) Allaman of West Burlington, IA, eight grandchildren, Justin (Bobby) Allaman, Rachael (Rene) Tengen, Jordan (Heather) Allaman, Hannah (Alec) Hill, Jacob (fiancé Kristen) Allaman, Danielle (Ryan) Harley, Allison (Brent) Chandler, and Katie (Shane) Eberhardt. Also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Loren.
A funeral service for Charles Allaman is planned for 11:00 AM on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Rozetta Baptist Church. Visitation is planned from 9:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Rozetta Cemetery. Memorials may be left for the Rozetta Baptist Church.
