The Galesburg Community Chorus will begin rehearsals for its 2024-2025 season on Monday, September 9th from 7 to 9 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 North Prairie Street in Galesburg. All are welcome to join, and no auditions are necessary. Dues are $10 per semester, and music fees are $5 per semester. Students are not required to pay. If you would like to participate, but are unable to pay the fees at this time, please contact the Business Manager at galesburgchorusmanager@gmail.com.

The first concert of the season will take place on Sunday, December 8th at 3 pm at the First Presbyterian Church. It will feature Karl Jenkins’ “Stella Natalis” for chorus and orchestra, as well as some seasonal favorites.

Director Tim Pahel says, “the music of ‘Stella Natalis’ is lively, exciting, unique, and often beautifully expressive. Singers and audiences alike are sure to live it!”

Sponsors of the season’s concerts include Blick Art Materials, the Galesburg Community Foundation, the City of Galesburg, and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.

The Galesburg Community Chorus, directed by Dr. Tim Pahel, is the oldest community music organization in the Galesburg area and is currently celebrating its 79th anniversary.
