The Monmouth-Roseville soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to four with a 4-0 victory Monday afternoon on the artificial turf at Kewanee High School.

Junior forward Kevin Vazquez returned to action after missing several games with an injury, and he made his presence felt, scoring his first goal of the year and assisting on two others.

His classmate, Cee Sarcomo, started the scoring in the fourth minute, stealing the ball from the Boilermakers’ defense in the final third and lofting a long-range shot over goalie Dillon Price.

The Titans doubled their lead nine minutes later when Vazquez scored on a ball into the box from Angel Jurado. At the 20:05 mark, M-R scored again with Sarcomo passing to Vazquez and then receiving a return pass in front of the net. It was Sarcomo’s seventh goal of the season.

Jurado scored the lone goal of the second half with 36:26 to play off a nice sequence involving Vazquez and Sarcomo.

M-R held a 12-4 advantage in shots, and goalie Isaac Garcia had two saves while posting the clean sheet. Price made one save for the Boilers.

Now 6-5-4 on the year, the Titans return to action Tuesday at DePue/Hall.

In the JV game, Yahir Serna netted a natural hat trick in M-R’s 3-0 victory. Sebastian Aguilera Perez had assists on two of the goals.
