Unfortunately, door to door solicitors continue to be out and about. Monmouth Police Department Investigator Josh Kramer recommends calling local companies to schedule a job and to never let solicitors inside your home:

“If you are in the business to have a remodel or get a roof or something like that, call a local company. They will probably tell you they are booked up, but will get you scheduled in. Reputable companies are not doing the door-to-door home repairs, so keep that in mind. Obviously, never let them inside. Never let anybody of any sort of sales inside. There is no reason for anybody for one to come inside. The second part of it is that if they do come inside, bad things happen.”

Investigator Kramer shares that if a solicitor shows up at your door and you like what they are saying, take their information and do some research before making a decision.
