With harvest right around the corner, Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau President Jake Armstrong reminds motorists to be alert:

“We cannot just stop. This is not your car, you cannot just jam the brakes and stop in ten feet. This is very big, heavy equipment, especially if it is loaded with grain or fertilizer or chemical or whatever, it takes a little bit for us to maneuver, to turn, to stop, to do things, longer than you would expect, so just give them a little berth. Give them some extra room. If you are going to pass, pass, don’t dilly dally. Make sure it is in a safe area and get all the way around and don’t cut them off. Give them plenty of berth as you are driving around this equipment this fall. We are setting up to have a pretty good year. It is going to be a heavy harvest, lots of bushels are going to need to be moved and there is going to be a lot of equipment rolling around. We just don’t need people to get in a hurry and getting hurt. Just keep an eye out, be safe, and stay off your phone.”
