Construction on the newly constructed Green Oaks multipurpose facility began in May. Space has been cleared for the project, with footing for the foundation in place. Progress is expected to continue throughout the summer with a tentative completion date in late fall.

The new Green Oaks facility will feature sleeping rooms for up to 16 students or guests, a small director’s suite, a large kitchen, modern bathrooms, and laundry facilities. The entire single-level facility, nearly three times the size of the current Schurr Hall, will be fully accessible, have solar panels mounted on the roof, and will have heating and cooling, allowing for year-round usage. For more details, read the original announcement.

Additional updates will also be coming to the Green Oaks docks, rehabilitation of Shurr Hall, and improvements to accessibility to Green Oaks facilities.

These updates reflect Knox College’s commitment to creating a more accessible and welcoming environment for all students and staff. Stay tuned for more updates as these exciting projects progress throughout the summer.
