2024 Illinois State Cornhusking Contest October 6th

The 2024 Illinois State Cornhusking Contest is taking place this Sunday, October 6th at the Mike Hennenfent Farm, located at 1063 30th Street, Smithshire, with registration starting at 8am and the contest beginning at 9 am. President Richard Humes shares this years’ classes for the state competition:

“We are going to have the girls’ youth 10 to 14 and then there will be 15 to 20, they will be 10-minute lengths. The boys’ youth is 10 to 14 and 15 to 20. Then we will pick the senior women 75 and up and the men’s senior 75 and up, then women’s 21 to 49, men’s 21 to 49, women’s 50 and up, men’s 50 and up, and then the two open classes.”

The National Cornhusking Contest will be held the third weekend of October in Emerson, Iowa.
