As it is October, the discounted labs at the Warren County Health Department are back the last two weeks. Community Health Coordinator Kira Schumm expresses this is a great way to get a baseline of labs for your medical provider:

“It covers pretty much everything that your provider would want just for routine labs, which is a lipid panel that looks at your cholesterol, your good cholesterol, your bad cholesterol, and triglycerides. It covers your comprehensive metabolic panel, which looks at organ function, and most providers want to see that if you are on a medication to make sure it is not negatively impacting your organs. A complete blood count, so red cells, white cells, lots of cells that it looks at. Then your hemoglobin A1c, which is a measure of your blood sugar over the last three months. So, it is a really good workup for a good price.”

The discounted $75 labs with the Warren County Health Department are October 21st through October 31st and can be scheduled by calling 309-734-1314 extension 3.
