Dwayne L. “Fibber” Magee, age 66, of Raritan, Illinois, passed away at 11:57 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois.  He was born August 10, 1958 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Orval and Barbara Scholz Magee.  On October 29, 1977, he married Carla Johnson at the Raritan Baptist Church.

Dwayne was a 1976 graduate of Southern High School in Stronghurst. Illinois.  He worked as an agriculture mechanic most of his life, and was employed at Knapp Implement, Hopson Sales and Service, Martin and Clark Company, and in 2015, opened his own business, Fibber’s Fix It Shop in Raritan.  He was a Trustee on the Raritan Village Board, and a member of the Raritan Volunteer Firemen for many years.  Dwayne never met a stranger.  He enjoyed “talking tractors”, going to tractor pulls, camping, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, one daughter: April Magee of Raritan, one son: Aaron (Samantha) Magee of Raritan, his father; Orval L. Magee of Raritan, two granddaughters: Conlee and Tatum Magee of Macomb, IL, and five siblings: Ron (Jennifer) Magee of Platte City, MO, Diana Parrish of Warsaw, IL, and Darryl (Laurie) Magee, Patricia (Mark) Irish, and Elizabeth (Tim) Smith, all of LaHarpe, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother: Barbara Scholz Magee,  and one brother: Paul Magee.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, with Rev. Josh Yeakey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Raritan Cemetery.  Memorials have been established for the Raritan Volunteer Fire Department and the Stronghurst-Raritan Ambulance Service.  Please visit Dwayne’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence.
