Flu season is right around the corner and Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link reports what has been seen locally and reminds of getting those flu shots:

“We have been promoting that you get your flu shots, your COVID booster, as well as RSV. The state has a nice dashboard that we watch to see what is going on with respiratory viruses. We have talked before about the wastewater samples that we track. There is a little bit of a COVID spike in the beginning of August in the wastewater sample that I took a look at. We have not seen September yet, but we have been hearing a lot of reports of respiratory illness already, some pneumonia, which has been a little odd this time of the year, but it is just important to if you are not feeling well make sure you are staying home. If you are not recovering from those symptoms, seek medical attention from your provider.”

Flu shots are available at the Warren County Health Department by appointment.
