October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, which brings a yearly reminder to schedule those mammograms, shares Vice President of Business Development and Strategy with McDonough District Hospital Pat Osterman:

“When you start October, Breast Cancer Awareness we like to say that is what October is for, but that is one of those events that you want to do all twelve months, don’t just focus on October. If you need your annual mammogram done, it is a great reminder to have it done, but if you are due in June, get it done in June, don’t wait until October. You want to do those early screenings, those preventative screenings, get your mammograms. Forty and older now, for women, get screened, especially if you have a family history of breast cancer. Make sure you get screened every year, just take those preventative measures.”

Additionally, Osterman reports a new pediatrician, Dr. Segura, is joining the team at MDH in Macomb and will begin seeing patients November 4th.
