The Recharge Teen Center has teamed up with Midwest Bank for a weekly Game of Life: Finance Edition to provide local teens with the opportunity in gaining skills for the future, reports Recharge’s Assistant Coordinator Jess Ferguson:

“We are partnering with Midwest Bank to do a ‘Game of Life: Financial Literacy Series.’ Every Tuesday, they actually come to us from 3:30 to 5 pm and each week there is some kind of game that goes along with their content. So far they have talked about types of accounts, credit, types of credit, types of loans, student loans, and it is just really cool to hear the kids throughout the week that are having conversations while they are playing UNO or watching a movie and are bringing up these concepts they are learning, so it is just really awesome to grow in that area.”

Another collaboration at the Recharge Teen Center is a twelve-month series with Carl Sandburg College. On the first Monday of the month, local teens will hear from a variety of professionals during the Career Exploration program. Upcoming career topics include automotive technology and advanced manufacturing, followed by business.
