Mr. Terry R. DeJaynes, 74, of Gladstone, Illinois died at 12:29 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024, at his home.

He was born February 3, 1950, in Galesburg, Illinois to Jesse and Juanita M. (Condreay) DeJaynes. He married Pam Wiley and had two children. He later married Lora Bohannan on July 8, 2008.

Surviving is his wife, Lora DeJaynes of Gladstone, six sons, Kirt (and Lindsay Borst) DeJaynes of Abingdon, Illinois, Jerry Mohnen of Monmouth, Illinois, Richard (and Kayla) Davis of Bloomington, Illinois, Andrew (and Melissa) Davis of Pleasant Hill, Illinois, Mitchell (and Brenna) Timbrook of Manito, Illinois and Jake (and Sarah) Timbrook of Bloomington, a daughter, Alexis (and Joe) Griffen of Pleasant Hill, a brother, Rick (and Gwen) DeJaynes of Winter, Wisconsin, a sister, Linda (and Harry) Fox of Galesburg, 20 grandchildren, and a great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Krystal DeJaynes in 2010, two infant brothers, and an infant sister.

Terry attended Abingdon Schools. He was a meat cutter for 58 years and started when he was 14 years old. He was a member of the Jaycees in Abingdon and the Son’s of the American Legion. He enjoyed traveling to Missouri and Wisconsin to hunt deer and fish for catfish. He loved the “River Life” including drinking beer and socializing. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Abingdon Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at the Old Mill in Abingdon from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Please bring your own chair). Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
