As the anticipated date of breaking ground for the new Warren County Law Enforcement Center nears closer, Warren County Sheriff Martin Edwards provides a project update:

“We are at the point now where we are really going to start tweaking the plans. There is a lot to think about as far as the IT stuff, like where we are going to place phones, computers, and cameras. It is going to give us a lot more flexibility than we have right now. There are segregation requirements based on the status of the inmate; felons and misdemeanors, sentenced and un-sentenced, naturally you separate the sexes, so we will be able to bring the women back to the jail, we are still outsourcing them to Knox County. It will give us a lot more flexibility to manage our population. It will be better for the inmates. It is going to be better for our staffing to give them a better work area, certainly.”

Construction on the Warren County Law Enforcement Center is to begin next spring.
