Both a new and not so new business, Malley Farms, Small Batch Canning and Specialty Foods, stemmed from hobby canning and a passion for discovering unique flavors, shares Owner Nikki Malley:

“We opened up two years ago on Seminary Street, but we started over ten years ago as a small home-based cottage food maker. I started translating my passion for making interesting jams, jellies, sauces, and condiments into a Farmer’s Market business in the summer. I was at the time a Professor of Music at Knox College and I did this as a fun alternative in the summer, but the more I did it, the more I loved it and the business kept growing and got to the point where my husband and I decided we either had to cap it or really kind of go all in and figure out what that would look like. So, we went the all-in route, and we opened the store and put in a commercial kitchen so that we could move up from being a home-based food producer to a commercially licensed kitchen and producer.”

Malley Farms is located at 54 South Seminary Street in Galesburg.
