With harvest 2024 wrapping up, farmers are looking ahead at what 2025 has in store. Pioneer agronomist Brad Mason says farmers are working on fall tillage and anhydrous applications as they start to prepare for the next crop.

“There are several, several times that I walk behind a planter in the spring and see emergence issues that are dated back to maybe some decisions made here in November, December,” says Mason. “As we get frost, hopefully in December and January, that takes out some of those mistakes. But, we haven’t had some deep frost in a couple of years. So the biggest thing right now is trying to get our fertility on and our field work done.”

Mason reminds farmers not to push finishing fall fieldwork.
