Jerilynn M.  Stevenson, 82, of Alexis, IL, passed away on Wednesday November 20, 2024 at her home.

Jerilynn was born on June 1, 1942 in Beardstown, IL, the daughter of Dale and Marie (Meridith) Dooley. She was raised and educated in Oquawka, IL, graduating with the Class of 1960 from G & O High School.

Jerilynn married Jim Stevenson on April 7, 1962 in Oquawka and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2017.

Jerilynn worked at Maytag in Galesburg for 30 years before retiring in 1994.

She was a member of the Alexis United Presbyterian Church where she volunteered as a secretary.

She enjoyed traveling, especially going to Hawaii, watching and following the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and the Fighting Illini.  She also liked to visit local cemeteries and decorating the graves of her family members and friends.  Jerilynn was very active in assisting Jim in operating the Barber Shop.

Surviving Jerilynn is one son, Darren Stevenson of Galesburg, IL, her grandchildren; Hayley Stevenson of Lutz, FL, Asa (Torre) Stevenson of Peoria, IL and Alex Stevenson of Peoria, IL; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Jamie Stevenson; 2 brothers, Ron Dooley and Mike Dooley.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, Illinois.  No visiting hours are planned.  Memorials may be given to the Scleroderma Foundation or the Alexis UP Church and sent to the funeral home.
