Voter turnout was over 72 percent in McDonough County where all three county board districts had contested races this week. For McDonough County Board District 1, Jerry Raby, Dave Bartlett, Dana Walker and Ken Durkin were elected. In McDonough County Board District 2 the top three vote getters were Craig Foster, Clayton Dean Cook and Joe Erlandson. And for McDonough County Board District 3, elected to the board included Terra Litchfield, Ryan Litchfield, Jack Lowderman and Terry Thompson.

The West Prairie School District 103 had a proposition question on the general election ballot. In a close talley, voters said no 51 to 49 percent for the district to issue $4 million in bonds to pay for a vocational, agricultural, and science building and to construct an athletic facility including an all-weather track at the West Prairie Junior-Senior High School in Colchester.
