In the midst of Medicare Part D enrollment season, Strom Center Executive Director Carol McCrery informs the 26 plans offered for 2024, have dropped to 16 available plans for 2025:
“If you are one of those persons that are on one of the plans that is no longer available, there is going to be one of two things happen, you are either not going to have a plan for 2025 or Medicare may put you into a plan and it may not be the one that suits you the best, it may be a plan that doesn’t cover all your medicines, it may be a plan that the premium has gone up tremendously. So, the changes that are being made, one of them is everyone is really happy about a $2,000 limit on the amount that they will pay for medications, but what they don’t understand is that if the medication they take is not on the formulary, they will be paying full price for it.”
McCrery says over 1,100 yellow medication forms have been turned into Strom Center for plan reviews by members of the community.
