Mrs. Rose Ann Lynn, 80, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 9:10 pm Monday, November 11, 2024, at her home.

She was born on December 23, 1943, in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Austin Lawrence and Darlene Leah (Coffman) Reed. She first married John Lester Overstreet, from that union came her two children, John Overstreet, Jr and Dusty Rose Helle of Littleton, Colorado. She later married Martin Lewis Lynn.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Dusty Rose Helle of Littleton, Colorado; her brother, Gary (Beverly) Reed of Bushnell, Illinois and three grandchildren, Ryan, Reed and Regan Helle. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, John Overstreet, Jr.

Rose Ann graduated from Bushnell High School in 1961 and lived in Bushnell until moving to Galesburg in 1979. She worked for the City of Galesburg holding several positions including working in records, dispatch, was a meter maid and served as the secretary for the fire department. Rose Ann had also worked as a legal secretary for U.S. Collins and Harris and Harris Law firm in Macomb. She was a cost accountant for Midwest Control in Bushnell and a typesetter for the McDonough Democrat newspaper at one time. She enjoyed racing motorcycles in Iowa and Illinois scrambled short track and hill climbs. Rose Ann also enjoyed cross stitching needlework, singing, playing the piano, reading and writing poetry. She also loved to play pool and roller skating. Rose Ann loved to spend time with her friends and family, especially taking the Amtrak train to visit with her daughter, Dusty in Colorado.

Visitation will be Noon-1:00 pm Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm, Saturday at the chapel with Deacon Michael Crummer officiating. The burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home to help offset funeral costs. Online condolences may be offered at www.h-p-w.com.
