On October 25th, 2024, at approximately 9:10pm, Fulton County Deputies located a stolen vehicle from Iowa on IL 116 Hwy near IL 97 Hwy. Deputies learned that the stolen vehicle belonged to a student at a high school in Pleasant Hill, IA, in which a male suspect had battered the student and demanded the keys to his car. The suspect then fled the area in the student’s vehicle. Due to the nature of this incident and the proximity of the stolen car to Valley High School, deputies remained at Valley School throughout the night and checked all buildings on the property.
On October 26th at approximately 7:07am, a resident on IL 116 Hwy contacted the sheriff’s office to report an attempted carjacking. The owner was able to fight off the suspect and the suspect then fled on foot. After taking the report, deputies checked nearby residents to warn them of the suspect. It was during this time that a resident on IL 116 Hwy reported that their vehicle was just stolen from their driveway. Fulton County Deputies and a Farmington Police Officer located the vehicle west of Farmington. The vehicle then fled at a high rate of speed and eluded officers once into Peoria County. It was later determined that the suspect had entered a shed during the overnight hours east of Valley School on IL 116 Hwy, where he took items from the property.
The suspect later stole another vehicle from Peoria County and led deputies on a pursuit into Woodford County. Officers located the abandoned vehicle and the suspect was taken into custody by a nearby lake. The suspect was identified as 20 year old, Elijah Sack, of Des Moines, IA.
In Fulton County, Sack faces charges of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Burglary, and Possession of Stolen Property. Sack was detained following a detention hearing in Fulton County Court on 10/28/24.
