United Red Storm Boys Basketball Expecting to Get Off to Better Start in Thanksgiving Tournament

Share

United Red Storm boys basketball head coach Jason Lancaster is starting his second season at the helm of the program. His squad went (16-16) in his season. The Red Storm begin play in the ROWVA/Williamsfield Thanksgiving Tournament on Monday. United dropped its first three games of the tourney in 2023, before bouncing back and winning their final two games on the tournament’s final day. That started a run of 12 straight wins. With Lancaster in his second season now, he hopes that the better familiarity with his system will get his club off to a faster start.

United will play five, round-robin games in the tournament that starts on Monday and ends with two games the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It will be the same schedule as last year, with the Red Storm opening with three quality opponents. They’ll take on Henry-Senachwine on Monday at Williamsfield HIgh School, Riverdale on Tuesday at ROWVA High School and ROWVA/Williamsfield on Friday at ROWVA High School, once again. The tournament finishes up on Saturday at Williamsfield High School with all the participating schools playing two games. Tune into the Sports Report all next week for updates from the tournament.
