Voters in Monmouth voted no on Tuesday that the city clerk for the city of Monmouth should be an appointed position rather than elected. The majority of voters want to vote for the city clerk. The un-offical vote count was 1588 no votes to 914 yes votes.
Voters in Warren County chose Joe McGraw over the incumbent Eric Sorensen for the 17th District Congressional District with nearly 60 percent of the vote in the county.
15th Congressional District representative Mary Miller was un-opposed as were both state representatives Norine Hammond and Dan Swanson. All three are Republicans.
Warren County Clerk Denise Schreck, State’s Attroney Thomas Siegel, and Coroner Al McGuire were all un-opposed.
Tim Bresnahan, Sean Stevens, Todd Winkler, Stephen Hawkins and David Jenks were all re-elected to the Warren County Board. Warren County is divided into 4 districts and each district has 4 seats on the board. The board makes policy and budget decisions for the county. County board members are elected for 4 year terms. Elections are staggered so every 2 years there is an election for 2 board seats in each district. Only five of the eight available seats were elected on Tuesday.
Voter turnout for the General Election in Warren County was just over 58 percent, This includes early voting and mail in ballots.
