Arrest Made Following Domestic Complaint

Aggravated Domestic Battery, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Armed Violence, Manufacturing/Delivery of Cannabis more than 500grams, Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On December 3, 2024 Macomb Police Officers and McDonough County Sherriff Deputies responded to a report of a possible domestic complaint. During the investigation of the domestic complaint, Officers learned that the male suspect, later identified as Chanon H. Davis Jr. had presented a firearm and threatened to shoot the victim. During the altercation Davis grabbed the victim’s shirt and twisted the collar area tight enough to restrict the victim’s breathing. Officers located a firearm in the waistband of Davis, Davis does not have a valid FOID Card. Davis was secured in handcuffs and taken to the McDonough County Jail.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on the residence for other weapons and contraband.
Additional ammo and a 25-round extended magazine were located along with several bags of cannabis,
MDMA (ecstasy), and a white powdery substance.

Davis was charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Armed
Violence, Manufacturing/Delivery of Cannabis more than 500grams, Manufacturing/Delivery of a
Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
