Christmas on the Square in Downtown Monmouth is back Friday, December 6th. Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Andrea Monroe highlights the evening events:

“We wanted to do something a little different this year and have a nice Christmas concert. We have children’s choirs, we have rock bands, we have the dancers, we have Monmouth College ASL, and the Chin Church Crew. They start at 5 pm and then we will take a little break at 6 for the tree lighting ceremony. This year with the construction we have kind of shrunk Christmas on the Square in more, so people aren’t out too far. We are still bringing back the iceless skating rink. There won’t be carriage rides or Meks on Main is normally where Santa is, we are bringing him into the center of the square, just so everything is really close. Food trucks and everything are going to be all together this year. There will be ax throwing, a basketball blowup thing, balloon art animals, cotton candy, and we have a lot of vendors coming that will be setting up tables.”

Monmouth’s Christmas on the Square will take place from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, December the 6th.
