With Thanksgiving past, the Christmas shopping ramps up. Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer offers precautionary steps to prevent those deliveries from vanishing off your doorsteps:

“It is that time of year, people are starting to order Christmas gifts. Don’t let those pile up on your porch and sit there all day. If you have a package delivered and you can get home or have somebody, go over and pick it up for you, do that. There are people that roam around looking for that type of thing. Make sure you get them inside as soon as possible. Don’t leave those packages in your vehicle at night. Lock your doors on your cars. Lock your doors on your garages and try to make yourself a hard target.”
