Each year, the Illinois Soybean Association hosts the Impact Awards Banquet to honor farmers in Illinois for contributions to the soybean industry. Among the 2024 award recipients was the Moore family from Roseville, who was named the Farm Family of the Year. Ron Moore shares this was never something he expected to accomplish when he started working for the Illinois Soybean Association in 1999.
“It was kind of a surprise when we got notified that Deb, Mike, and I were nominated and received that award. It’s not anything that we started out thinking we were going to do and accomplish. We just thought working in the soybean industry was something that we needed to do and make our soybean industry a better place,” says Moore. “I started working for the Illinois Soybean Association in 1999 and all of the things that we, my wife, and Mike have done for the soybean industry in Illinois, it hasn’t been to win any award- just because we want to promote soybeans. We want to make sure that the soybean farmers that are in Illinois have the best opportunity to be profitable.”
The Moore’s have been active in the agriculture community, with involvement and leadership in local, state, and national organizations.
