Following a week break from games, the United Red Storm Boys’ Basketball team took to the court last night, hosting the Southeastern Suns and picking up a hard-fought win 47-27 at United High School. A great defensive effort by the entire team, which Red Storm Head Coach Jason Lancaster says will be put to great use ahead of a string of games in the United Holiday Tournament:

“No matter how much we may have struggled on the offensive end, they played really good defense the entire night and that has been our calling card, we are going to have to do that each and every night in order to compete. So, hopefully we can get the rust off this weekend and start to put the ball in the hoop a little bit more and continue playing defense and continue to have some success. We play two games on Saturday and then Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We go from not playing any games to playing five in basically a week’s time, so that is going to help us. Once you start playing, you kind of start to get a feel and things start to get moving a little bit more smoothly and we really need that. We need to get into a groove as we get into the middle part of the season.”

The (4-3) United Red Storm Boys’ Basketball team look to defend their United Holiday Tournament Champions title as they square off against West Central and Knoxville on Saturday, followed by Ridgewood next Wednesday and West Prairie next Friday.
