This Saturday, December 14th at the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth will be the Sounds of Christmas beginning at 6:30 pm. Pastor Shelly Forrest and Member Joy Boostrom have the details:

“Our wonderful Choir Director, Kaitlyn McCullough, who came to us from Monmouth College, and she is also the Choir Director at Orion High School, and she is bringing her choir. She reached out to the Monmouth-Roseville Madrigals,” shares Forrest.

“I’m lucky enough to be a part of a quintet and our name is the Knox-Galesburg Symphony Holiday Brass Quintet, and we will be participating, actually providing some prelude music before 6:30 and then taking part of the program,” adds Boostrom.

Forrest also informs that afterwards there are people from the church putting together treats for a time of fellowship.

Next weekend the Buchanan Community Chorus will be performing ‘The Peace at Christmas’ on Friday, December 20th at the First Lutheran Church in Galesburg at 7 pm and then at 3 pm Saturday, December 21st at the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth.
