Phase Two of the West Harlem Avenue project in Monmouth, which included replacement of the water and sewer lines, is nearly complete. Next up is the surface restoration of concrete from Main Street to G Street and asphalt from G Street to the bypass, reports Mayor Rod Davies:

“There are two different funding sources and the federal funds and the federal grant that we got did that first phase from Main to G and required concrete as part of the specifications of the project. Then we will be using motor fuel tax funds, which we are going to do some widening and some ditch contour, we have some water runoff issues there that we will have to change the height of the road a little bit and do some things that stretch from G to the bypass, so we will be working on that and that will be asphalt.”

Additionally, the current stop sign placed on West Harlem at the crosswalk from the Warren County YMCA to the Pattee Outdoor Pool will be replaced with an on-demand pedestrian stop light.
