In 2026, a new Warren County Sheriff will be elected, and Warren County native AJ Cox has announced his candidacy. Having held a variety of roles within the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Monmouth Police Department, AJ states that service, along with the multiple volunteer committees and organizations he has been a part of, backs his platform of ensuring continued protection of the area citizens:

“I am from here. I love it here. I have worked my tail off to get myself better, to go through and help other people out in the community. I strive to make people better around me and teach them better because as law enforcement officers, that is our thing, we are here to help, 110 percent. Our community is amazing, there are great and wonderful people here and that is one reason why I wanted to run for Sheriff, and I want to be your Sheriff is to keep these good, great citizens in Warren County being protected. If I am elected the next Sheriff, I will continue to help and support my community and will strive to make the department better because like I said, that is our job. We are to go out and make our communities safer and that is one thing that I will massively, massively strive for if I am elected the next Warren County Sheriff.”

AJ is currently an Investigator with the City of Monmouth Investigations Department.
