The Monmouth College football team had four student-athletes named Division III Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) on Tuesday. To qualify for CSC Academic All-District, student-athletes must be at least sophomore standing, have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and participate in at least 90% of their teams games or start at least 66% of their games.

Seniors Jackson Bergren (Monmouth, Illinois) and Cody Szelc (Riverview, Florida) earned the honor for a third straight season, the most ever by a Monmouth football player. Junior Derek Chandler (Monmouth, Illinois) was a repeat selection while sophomore John Ahlden (Ashkum, Illinois) was a first-time selection.

On the field, Bergren, Szelc and Chandler were all Midwest Conference selections this season as the Scots went 8-1 in MWC play and participated in their third straight Lakefront Bowl.

The Scots had four volleyball players and seven soccer players earn All-District honors in the fall season, bringing the total to 15 so far for the 2024-25 season. The CSC swimming and basketball honorees will be announced in March.
