IFB Membership Expulsion Delayed Amid Litigation with AFBF

Share

Starting January 1st, Country Financial Insurance will no longer require customers to pay the $20 Illinois Farm Bureau membership annual fee with its policies. Following this announcement, the American Farm Bureau Federation went into mediation which resulted in the AFBF board voting to expel the Illinois Farm Bureau from membership effective December 20. However, Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau Manager Ashlyn Quinn shares this is not the case anymore.

“As far as more of our statewide and federal membership goes, we were originally supposed to have our membership with AFBF terminated on the 20th, at noon, and that has since changed,” says Quinn. “AFBF released it now that they’re going to wait until all the litigation is handled in that case before that termination date comes. So I guess it’s still just a waiting game figuring out how all that’s going to go. And guess leaving it up to the court system.”

According to the WHFB, not many updates have been released regarding court hearings and dates.
