To the residents of Warren County, I would like to introduce myself. I am Jack Baskett and I am announcing my candidacy for the nomination of the Republican party for the position of Warren County Sheriff. After speaking with residents, friends, and mentors we believe I am the best qualified candidate for the office of Sheriff.
I come with over three decades of professional, progressive, decorated law enforcement experience. I currently serve as a patrol sergeant with the sheriff’s office. I have a vast array of patrol experience as a Master Patrol Officer with the Decatur Police Department, and investigative experience as an Investigator with the Illinois Secretary of State Police. With both agencies I served on the departments Emergency Response Teams, a K-9 handler in patrol, narcotics, and explosives. I was on the FBI Bomb Task Force, where I worked in the field of terrorism. I have done numerous protective service details with the Secret Service for four presidents, and other dignitaries. I have over twenty-six awards for commendation to include three awards for valor, three achievement awards under valor, purple heart, and over 30 letters of commendation from municipal, state, and federal agencies. I am a veteran of the United States Air Force and did two enlistments with the IL Air National Guard.
I am strong in my faith, believe in representation of the United States Constitution, and the Second Amendment. I want to see the best conditions for the residents of Warren County not only reflection to law enforcement but quality of life. I look forward to the campaign and continuing to serve in my current position and meeting more members of our community.
