Jason Horner announces run for Warren County Sheriff

Share

Dear Citizens of Warren County,
It is with great pride that I, Jason Horner, announce my candidacy for the Republican nomination for
Warren County Sheriff in 2026. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve our community, and I am
committed to ensuring that Warren County remains a safe, strong, and thriving place for all of us.
I was born and raised in Little York, where I learned the values of hard work, service, and community
from my parents and grandparents. These values have shaped who I am today and continue to drive me as
I serve you in my current role at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
My journey in public service began at the age of 18 when I joined the Little York Fire Protection District.
At 21, I started with the Monmouth Warren County Auxiliary Police, and for the last 18 years, I have
worked in various roles at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. From correctional officer to court security,
patrol deputy, and now night shift supervisor (sergeant). I have dedicated 27 years of my life to serving
and protecting the people of Warren County and I am deeply committed to our community’s safety and
well-being.
In addition to my work at the Sheriff’s Office, I have always believed in staying connected to the
community. As a former member of the Little York Village Board, and through my volunteer work
helping coach kids at the YMCA, Lions League, and Junior Sheriff’s League, I have remained actively
involved in our community.
Family has always been very important in my life. My wife, Sarah, is a dedicated teacher at United High
School, and together, we have raised three wonderful children who are learning the value of service and
community just as I did.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated leadership and initiative, working to improve our department
and our community. As Vice President of the Warren County FOP union for over a decade, I have helped
in negotiating labor contracts, addressing personnel issues, and securing grants that have helped improve
our Sheriff’s Office, including upgrading our communication systems and resources for our deputies.
In addition to my extensive experience, I have a college degree in criminal justice and have received
advanced training from various local, state and federal agencies, with hundreds of hours of professional
development. I am prepared to lead with knowledge, skill, and dedication.
As your next Sheriff, my priority will be to ensure that Warren County remains a safe place to live, work,
and raise a family. I will continue to focus on improving public safety, supporting our law enforcement
officers, and building stronger relationships between our Sheriff’s Office and the communities we serve.
I humbly ask for your support and trust. Together, we can work to create a future where our children can
grow up in a community that values safety, family, and service to others
Sincerely,
Jason Horner
