Warren County native Jason Horner has announced his candidacy in the race for Warren County Sheriff in 2026. Having begun his dedication to serving the public at the age of 18, Horner shares his top priorities in his run for Warren County Sheriff:

“One of the biggest challenges that we have coming down the pipe is the new jail. This is something that is going to be a huge responsibility for the next guy. It is one I take very seriously. If I am elected, managing the project would be my top priority. Some of the things that are going to have to happen, we are going to have to hire additional staff, we are going to have to retrain our current staff with new procedures and policies, and then, obviously, we are going to have to address the ongoing issue of staff turnover. It has been a big challenge over the years, and it is not just here, it is a nationwide issue. One of my other top priorities is school safety. I would really like to have a School Resource Officer in every school in the county. It is more than just a professional goal of mine; it is very personal for me. My wife is a teacher, my son is in school, and I have family and friends that have kids that are in school; it is one of my top priorities.”

Horner is currently a Sergeant with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, serving as night shift supervisor.
