Regional Superintendent Jodi L. Scott and Asst. Regional Superintendent Lori Loving set to retire in 2025.

Regional Superintendent Jodi L. Scott and Assistant Regional Superintendent Lori Loving will retire on June 30th, 2025, after more than sixty years of combined education service. Their unwavering dedication to our region and the Regional Office of Education has made ROE #33 one of the most formidable in Illinois.

Assistant Regional Superintendent Lori Loving will retire this year after beginning her career in education in 1995 as a Midwest Central Middle School reading and math teacher. She became an education consultant after teaching at Abingdon Middle School until 2001. From 2001-2014, Mrs. Loving worked closely with educators as a consultant to provide assistance and training on current best practices. Lori earned her bachelor’s degree in education and her master’s degree in Education Leadership. In 2014, Lori joined Jodi L. Scott of the Regional Office of Education #33 as Assistant Regional Superintendent. Together, they expanded the programs and services that ROE #33 offers to provide some of the best early childhood, professional development, and alternative education in the region.

Lori Loving has been married to Tim Loving for twenty-five years; during which time they raised two children, Tori and Eli Loving. In her spare time, Lori enjoys her two dogs, Poppy and Jake. After her retirement, Lori hopes to continue in a part-time role supporting education in her community.

Regional Superintendent Jodi L. Scott, IARSS President and 2018 IASA Superintendent of Distinction for the Western Region award recipient, will retire in June 2025. Jodi earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education, her master’s degree in early childhood education, and her master’s degree in administration.

Jodi began her career in education in 1993 at Union (now West Central) as a Lead Teacher and Early Childhood Educator. In 2000, Jodi became an Educational Consultant for ROE #27, writing grants and facilitating early childhood training. Scott later took on the role of Assistant Regional Superintendent in 2004 and then moved into Regional Superintendent in 2007. In 2014, Knox County ROE consolidated with Henderson, Mercer, and Warren. Jodi Scott went on to win the election for Regional Superintendent of the newly formed ROE #33.

Jodi Scott’s service to the region and tenure in education for the past thirty years has cemented Regional Office of Education #33 as the foremost authority in Illinois regarding early childhood education, Regional Alternative Education Services, 21st CCLC, and more programs and services that support the communities of Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren Counties. Over the past ten years, ROE #33 has increased revenue to over $9 million, directly impacting the communities we serve.

Jodi spent her time in education on many councils, clubs, and committees to support education and promote opportunities for educators in the areas ROE #33 covers. These include the Early Learning Council, the Performance Evaluation Advisory Council, the Governors Funding Commission, the Kiwanis Club, the Rotary Club, the CEO Board, the Knox Chamber of Commerce, the Thrive Communities Board, and the Rural Schools Advisory Committee. Her dedication to the Regional Office of Education #33 is evident throughout her career and history in education in Illinois.

Jodi L. Scott, a Henderson County native, and her husband of 30 years, Tony Scott, raised their two daughters, Allison and Andrea Scott, in Knoxville, Illinois. Her passion for Early Childhood made Regional Office of Education #33 a leader in early childhood education in Illinois. Whether advocating for funding, navigating through the COVID pandemic, or employing hundreds of people throughout her time as Regional Superintendent, Jodi Scott has positively impacted the lives of families in our region for years through her dedication, perseverance, and hard work. In retirement, Jodi hopes to continue being a voice for rural communities, families, and educators.

Regional Superintendent Jodi L. Scott and Assistant Regional Superintendent Lori Loving have been honored to serve Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren Counties, as well as the education field. Over time, the Regional Office of Education #33 has grown, expanded its services and programs, and brought on new talent to serve our communities to the best of our ability. Throughout that time, Jodi Scott and Lori Loving have held to ROE #33’s vision and mission of serving our schools and communities by providing educational resources, partnerships, and opportunities. Jodi and Lori would like to thank their staff for their hard work during their tenure heading Regional Office of Education #33.
