Monmouth-Roseville Girls Persevere Through Difficult Stretch of Schedule

Share

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan girls basketball team is (17-7) overall and (4-2) in the TRAC West Divsion. They just finished a stretch of games that saw them play 7 games in a span of 12 days. Not only was the schedule crazy-busy but the quality of teams they saw during that time period was a gauntlet of schools with well-above .500 records. Teams such as (17-6) Alleman, (16-7) Macomb, (15-6) Riverdale and (16-7) Brimfield. The Titans went an amazing (5-2) in the seven games, with their only losses coming to Alleman and Riverdale. Included in Monmouth-Roseville’s wins were a 20 point victory over Brimfield and a 14-point win over Macomb. The Titan girls are in a very competitive sub-sectional with the likes of the aformentioned Macomb Bombers, (18-4) Peoria Notre Dame, (16-3) Sherrard and (14-6) IVC, as well as defending regional champion Canton. The Titans host Canton on Monday night for an important match up. That will be an important postseason-seeding contest. I asked head coach Scott Weber if he was happy with his team’s play during the nearly two week, grueling stretch.

After only playing one home game in the first half of the season, the Titan girls will play six of their last seven games at home. That starts with a TRAC West Division game on Thursday night at the Shoebox at Monmouth-Roseville High School against the Mercer County Golden Eagles.
