Monmouth-Roseville Titan Girls Basketball Making a Case for a High Postseason Seed

Share

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan girls basketball team has rebounded from a disappointing loss to Mercer County last Thursday night with a pair of non-conference wins, 58-11 over Farmington on Saturday and a very impressive 18-point 64-46 win at home against Canton on Monday night. Those wins coupled with a 15 point win over Macomb in the middle of the month and a 20 point road win over perennial power Brimfield gives the Titans an excellent chance to earn a top-3 seed in a loaded class 2A sub-sectional. Monmouth-Roseville’s win over Canton on Monday night was a little revenge for seniors Brianna Woodard and Tatianna Talivaa. Canton ended their junior season in a regional championship game loss. Woodard and Talivaa each scored 21 points in Monday’s victory. Titan head coach Scott Weber said that was definitely on their minds before the ballgame.

The Titans have two more games before the seeds are announced next Thursday, starting with a home game against Orion tomorrow night and a sneaky good game on Monday night against Wethersfield. Monmouth-Roseville beat Wethersfield 54-37 for the Cliff Warkins Holiday Tournament title on December 30th. We’ll have both of the Titan’s games against Orion and Wethersfield on the PCSN with the pregame shows starting with the AM 1330/FM 95.7 WRAM pregame show at 6:40. Tip-off for both are scheduled for 7:00.
