Big news is coming in January 2025! Prairie State Tractor and Martin Tractor are teaming up to create something even better – and they’re doing it under the Heritage Tractor name. This exciting merger means more resources, more support, and even better service for our customers. With 22 locations across Illinois, we’re ready to continue serving the community just like we always have, but with even more to offer.

Why This Merger Matters

When two great companies come together, good things happen. By becoming part of Heritage Tractor, we’re combining strengths to give you better access to equipment, parts, and technology. Plus, our teams will be working together to bring even more knowledge, innovation, and expertise to the table. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

And it’s not just about the equipment. This merger also means new opportunities for our employees, opening doors for growth, collaboration, and career development. As agriculture continues to evolve, we’re committed to staying ahead of the curve and delivering the best solutions to our customers.

“By joining forces, we’re making sure our customers get the top-notch service they deserve, while also creating more pathways for our employees to grow,” says Chris Rupiper, CEO of Prairie State Tractor.

Same Great Service, New Name

Prairie State Tractor and Martin Tractor have been trusted names in Illinois for generations, and that’s not changing. You’ll still see the same familiar faces, just with a new name on the sign. Heritage Tractor is built on the same values that made Martin and Prairie State successful, and we’re excited to keep strengthening our relationships with customers, both old and new.

“Our goal has always been to provide the best service around, and this merger allows us to do that even better,” says Jim Haynes, CEO of Martin Tractor. “By bringing our teams together, we can serve our customers in new ways and provide even more opportunities for our employees.”

Keeping People at the Center

At the heart of everything we do is a simple focus we call the “Heart of Heritage.” It’s all about our coworkers, our customers, and our communities. This focus has guided us from the beginning, and it’s something Prairie State and Martin have always believed in, too. We’re excited to carry that forward as one team.

A Look at the Companies

Martin Tractor
Serving Illinois growers for nearly 100 years, Martin Tractor has always put customers first. With 14 locations across the state, they’ve been a go-to source for John Deere parts and equipment.

Prairie State Tractor
Formed from the merger of Holland & Sons and Kelly Sauder Rupiper Equipment in 2021, Prairie State Tractor has been deeply rooted in Illinois agriculture for decades. With 8 locations, they’ve been a trusted partner for farmers and homeowners alike.

Heritage Tractor
Heritage Tractor started in 1998 as a small, one-store operation. Now, with 21 locations in Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas, they’ve grown into a leading John Deere dealer known for quality equipment, expert service, and a strong focus on community.

We’re excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to keep serving you – now as part of the Heritage Tractor family.
