Local entrepreneur Dillan Vancil has officially announced his candidacy for Congress in Illinois’ 17th District. A Monmouth native, Vancil shares his inspiration to run for Congress:

“After my experience with business now and dealing with the economy and the school board and several other boards, I feel like it is time for me to step up and try to serve on a larger scale. I enjoy what I am doing now, and I love helping others, it is great to be a part of all these different communities and what we have been able to help with that, I want to be able to do that on a larger scale. Our families have been struggling the last four years, here, and we want to do something to help our communities and help our families succeed.”

Vancil will appear on the Republican ticket for Illinois’ 17th Congressional District during the 2026 election.
