One day each month, Carl Sandburg College has set aside a day to offer students a chance to get enrolled. Dean of Enrollment Management, Lisa Hanson, explains the ‘Take Charge’ enrollment days are designed for students to complete the registration process from start to finish:
“They can actually apply that day. We have financial aid staff available to help students complete the financial aid process. We will help students do the scholarship application process and then if they need to take the Accuplacer exam to figure out what classes are best for them, that test is offered during the ‘Take Charge’ enrollment days. Then when they are all done with that, we will have registration staff available to actually help them select their classes for the upcoming term. It is a start to finish. If you have started pieces of the process, you can come in and finish on ‘Take Charge’ enrollment days as well. We have a couple dates coming up, March 20th and April 10th would be some new days that we have on the schedule, but we will have something monthly through the beginning of fall semester.”
Hanson also reports that Sandburg is now part of the Common App process, meaning students can fill out one application to be sent to hundreds of colleges and universities of their choosing.
