Macomb Officers Receive Letters of Commendation

On 1-31-2025, Officers Kenny Bergren and Korri Cameron received Letters of Commendation for their extraordinary efforts in a September 2023 incident.

On 9-14-2023, Macomb Police Department Officer Kenny Bergren and Officer Korri Cameron responded to a residence within Macomb regarding an on-going domestic violence situation. During their investigation, officers learned the female victim, and her children had suffered from long-term physical and emotion abuse caused by the victim’s boyfriend. Officers conducted interviews and ultimately coordinated the arrest of the suspect. Officer Bergren and Cameron facilitated a search of the victim’s residence which yielded evidence that verified the victim’s statements. Furthermore, the officers utilized the knowledge of the evidence obtained and statements provided to interview the suspect, further corroborating the allegations against the suspect. The suspect was ultimately convicted on felony charges and received an Illinois Department of Corrections sentence.

The officers’ compassion, dedication and professionalism mirrored the values of the Macomb Police Department and provided safety for the victim and her family. Their actions not only validate that Officer Bergren and Officer Cameron are remarkable officers, but also remarkable people.
