Weather has been more like a normal February this past week and the Monmouth-Roseville School District says their E-Learning Days concept, has been favorable thus far. Superintendent Ed Fletcher explains:
“We Like them, some districts may not. Our thought process is that it is cold and snowy, we have them doing work, we then hopefully get out, if we don’t use more than five days at a specific time; the other thought process is will the kids be actively engaged in May when it is 70 or 75 degrees and the pool is open; it is kind of a catch twenty-two, you know, one district says there are going to do it this way and another says they are going to do it the other way. Ours is that we would rather have them doing the work now as opposed to not paying attention in class in May when they are looking outside, and it is really nice.”
The Board of Education also met on Tuesday, February 11th and approved the 202 School Year Registration Fees as well as the bid of $437,000 from Leander Construction to remodel the Monmouth-Roseville Junior High bathrooms.
